First of all, if the only thing one can say after reading a philosophical treatise is “That is entirely stupid,” then one clearly isn’t meant for the realm of philosophy, at least at this point in one’s life, and should altogether avoid any further exploration of philosophical matters until one learns how to think critically , synthesize large chunks of information, and incorporate seemingly loosely connected thoughts together in one solid chain to properly assess the argument presented.

Obviously, his thinking is far from the norm; most people don’t challenge everything they’ve ever been told though it is a healthy and liberating practice. Before one condemns Nietzsche and, by extension, his work to the sordid abyss of “sexist pigs” or “haughty fools,” one needs to consider the beliefs reflected of the time period.
Also, one must realize that when Nietzsche launches his “questionable” paragraphs, he is actually deriding society as a whole. Now that my defense and clarification of philosophy and what it means to critique philosophy is finished, I shall provide a brief review of the actual work.
